In the Southern Ohio Correctional near Lucasville, William Dean Wicklines was executed today. Wickline, 52, was pronounced dead at 10:11 a.m. He was convicted and sentenced to death in 1985 for the Aug. 14, 1982, dismemberment slayings of the 24-year-old Peggy Ann Lerch and her husband, Christopher, 28, in a dispute over a $6,000 cocaine deal. The bodies were never found. His death sentence was for the slaying of Mrs. Lerch, because the judges said she was killed to cover another crime. He was sentenced to life in prison for killing Chris Lerch. Wickline becomes the 3rd condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Ohio.
