INDIA: COURT REJECTS MURDER CONVICT’S CLEMENCY PLEA

Justices P V Hardas and S P Davare of the Bombay high court in India rejected the clemency plea of Nandurbar resident Sumanbai Mahire, 58. Mahire was sentenced to death for murder after she and her husband were initially arrested for abetment of a person’s suicide in 1994.
