INDIA: DEATH PENALTY ADDED TO K'TAKA TERROR LAW

the state legislature in Bangalore, India, approved a slew of amendments to the Karnataka Control of Organised Crime Act (KCOCA), allowing for the death sentence for terrorism. “We have defined what is terrorist activity and the punishment can be up to capital punishment or life imprisonment . It was not there in the original act,” state home minister V S Acharya said. It is unsure whether these terror laws will be ratified by the President.
