the execution in India of the son of a Delhi Police sub inspector, who was sentenced to death for murdering his girl friend, was stayed after he filed an appeal against the verdict in the Supreme Court, official sources said. Sandeep and his accomplice Shashi Bhushan, a Delhi Police constable, were sentenced to death on June 2, 2007. District Sessions judge Anant Kumar had fixed August 13 for his execution after the Allahabad High Court upheld his death sentence.
