INDIA. DEATH PENALTY FOR MURDER

an Additional Sessions Court in India awarded the death sentence to Sebastian, a man found guilty of sexually abusing and murdering a two year old girl in Pozhiyoor. The court heard that in August, 2005, Sebastian abducted Saranya from her house and abused her, and then suffocated her and disposed of her body in a canal. Sebastian was also involved in a case of the sexual abuse of a gypsy girl in the city a few years before, as well as several child abuse cases in Tamil Nadu.
