INDIA. DEATH PENALTY FOR TWO CONVICTED OF RAPING AND KILLING 8 YEAR OLD

the Kamrup District and Sessions Court in Guwahati, India, sentenced to death two people in connection with the rape and murder of a minor girl. The accused, Bishnu Prasad Sinha, 60 from Bihar and Putul Bora, 28, from Upper Assam, were arrested by police on 15 July 2002 on charges of raping and murdering 8-year-old Barnali Deb from Tripura. The minor girl was raped and murdered in the premises of Network Travels in Guwahati on the night of 13 July 2002.
