Justices K.K. Mishra and D.V. Sharma of the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court in India commuted the death sentence awarded by the Lakhimpur-Kheri District and Sessions court to Pawan Kumar, alias Monu Mittal, to life imprisonment.

Sharma of the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court in India commuted the death sentence awarded by the Lakhimpur-Kheri District and Sessions court to Pawan Kumar, alias Monu Mittal, to life imprisonment. IOC sales officer Manjunath Shanmugham was shot dead on November 19, 2005, for taking action against the Mittal petrol pump in Gola for selling adulterated petrol.
