According to the prosecution, in 1992, Ashok alias Lakshmanan, 31, and Oma alias Om Prakash, 50, entered the house of Dr. Mohan Kumar in the Tamil Nadu Housing Board quarters in V.C. Mottur near Walajapet and murdered him and attacked his wife and sons before fleeing with cash and gold jewelry. In a separate case, the two, together with three others, gained entry into the house of Gunasekharan, a chemical factory owner in V.C. Mottur on July 7, 2003, and attacked the family, killing Gunasekharan’s mother, before looting cash and jewels.
