INDIA. MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR KILLING FAMILY MEMBERS

the Additional Sessions court in Champua, in the Indian state of Orissa, sentenced Sukra Munda to death after convicting him of killing his parents and one of his sisters with an axe.
According to the prosecution, Sukra was angry with his father as the latter had not given him his share of money obtained after selling a piece of land. Sukra attacked his father, mother, his brother and his sister with an axe while they were asleep on May 24, 1999. While his parents and sister died in the attack, the brother managed to escape.
