INDIA: FOUR SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR DALIT MURDER IN BARABANKI

a fast track court in Barabanki, India, sentenced four people to death and awarded life imprisonment to 11 others in connection with the murder of a Dalit. Additional District and Sessions Judge (fast track court) Anup Kumar Goyal pronounced the verdict in the 15-year-old case relating to the murder of Chedu, over an old rivalry. Those awarded capital punishment are Sagar, Nanku, Harinath and Ashok.
