He had reportedly been arrested in Nara village in Lakhapat with two AK-57 rifles, 29 cartridges and Rs 20,000 on May 27, 2001. The court acquitted six local people of giving shelter to Gafur for lack of evidence against them. It was revealed during investigations that Gafur had trained at different camps in Muzaffarabad, Lahore and Rawalpindi. No further details were available.
