INDIA. MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER OF FIVE

the district and sessions judge of Sahebganj, India, sentenced Matku Marandi to death after finding him guilty of killing five people on January 11, 2003 in Hatmari village, Barhet.
It was reported that on the day of the murders he had gone to his neighbours’ house, armed with a spear, in search of his wife. Upon being informed she was not there, “an agitated Marandi” killed family members Sunita Hembram, Sunita Besra, Manju Besra, Devi Besra and his relative Mangal Marandi.
