A man was sentenced to death by a local court in Mainpuri, India, for raping a 9-year-old girl and strangulating her to death.
In January 2011, the victim was in her orchard at Bhanau village of the district when the convict Satish (30), after finding her lonely, raped and strangulated her to death.
Satish, who was arrested by police the same day, confessed to the crime and based on his information, the girl's body was recovered from a river.
Special Judge Sunil Kumar held Satish guilty for rape and murder of the minor girl and sentenced him to death.
