INDIA: MIGRANT WORKER SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR 2018 RAPE & MURDER CASE IN KERALA
A migrant worker from Assam on 8 March 2021 was sentenced to death in Kerala by the District and Sessions Court for raping and murdering a 60-year-old woman at Puthenvelikkara in 2018.

A migrant worker from Assam on 8 March 2021 was sentenced to death in Kerala by the District and Sessions Court for raping and murdering a 60-year-old woman at Puthenvelikkara in 2018.
According to reports, the North Paravoor Additional District and Sessions Court pronounced a death sentence against 28-year-old Parimal Sahu, a resident of Nagaon district in Assam.
Additional Session Judge Murali Gopal Pandala found him guilty of trespassing into the house, assaulting and raping, and murdering the woman and destroying evidence.
The accused was slapped with a fine of Rs 220,000 and the amount will be paid in compensation to the victim's son who is mentally-challenged.
The deceased victim who was staying along with her mentally-challenged son was found murdered at her residence at Puthenvelikkara Bazar on 18 March 2018.
The convict was living in the outhouse on rent with 3 other migrant workers.
The victim was found lying in a pool of blood in the bedroom on the ground floor of the 2-storey building.
The victim suffered deep injuries on her head inflicted with a heavy object.
