India. Pakistan court says Indian ‘spy’ deserved death

the death sentence handed to Sarabjit Singh, an Indian national convicted of spying and carrying out a series of bomb attacks, was "well deserved", Pakistan's top court said in its detailed judgement upholding the penalty. Singh was convicted in 1991 by a lower court of spying and involvement in five bombings in Pakistan that killed 14 people and injured dozens.
The Supreme Court in August upheld the death penalty. The court in its 27-page detailed judgement, a copy of which was obtained by Reuters, said that analysis of the prosecution's evidence led to an "irresistible conclusion" that Singh was involved in the bombings. "The petitioner would not deserve any leniency in the matter of sentence," the court said.
