the Indian Supreme Court stayed the death sentence of Aftab Alam Ansari, the mastermind of the terrorist attack on American Center in Kolkata on January 22, 2002, that left six policemen dead. A vacation Bench comprising Justices G S Singhvi and C K Prasad admitted the statutory appeal filed by Ansari. The Calcutta High Court, in its February 5, 2010, verdict, upheld his death sentence.
