in India, Sindhudurg District Principal and Sessions judge JN Shanbaug sentenced four Mumbai youths to death for their involvement in the infamous 2003 Nandos killings. Santosh Chavan, the kingpin, Mahesh Shinde, Yogesh Chavan and Amit Shinde, all residents of Borivili, were sentenced to death. Two others were acquitted. Santosh and his colleagues allegedly lured people to a forest near Nandos to perform ‘black magic rituals’, however once there they robbed and killed them instead. Police said that they stole between Rs55,000 and Rs3 lakh from each of the ten victims.
