India’s Supreme Court stayed the operation of a Kerala High Court judgment confirming the death sentence awarded to M.A. Antony of Aluva.

India’s Supreme Court stayed the operation of a Kerala High Court judgment confirming the death sentence awarded to M.A. Antony of Aluva. A Bench stayed the sentence on a special leave petition filed by Antony, challenging the September 18 judgment. It also issued notice to the Kerala Government. According to the prosecution, Antony murdered six members of the same family on January 6, 2001. A CBI special court issued the death sentence which was confirmed on appeal by the High Court.
