INDONESIA. PROSECUTORS DEMAND DEATH FOR AUSTRALIAN EMBASSY BOMBER

Indonesian magistrates demanded the death penalty for Iwan Darmawan, 30, also known as ‘Rois’, accused of purchasing the van and the explosive material used in the attack on the Australian Embassy in Jakarta which left 11 people dead on September 9, 2004.

Indonesian magistrates demanded the death penalty for Iwan Darmawan, 30, also known as ‘Rois’, accused of purchasing the van and the explosive material used in the attack on the Australian Embassy in Jakarta which left 11 people dead on September 9, 2004.
He was also charged with having given refuge to other suspected terrorists.
“During the trial he never expressed remorse for his actions. He caused the death of innocent people and endangered national security,” said Attorney General Nendra.
