At least 10 prisoners have been hanged in Iran in the last days.
On September 11, two prisoners who were not identified by name were hanged in the Dizelabad Prison of Kermanshah, reported the Iranian state media. They were convicted of trafficking 244 kilograms of opium.
The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported the public execution of three prisoners in Dehdasht scheduled for 12 September. According to this report the three prisoners were convicted of rape.
At least 6 prisoners, including a woman, were hanged on September 10 on charge of drug trafficking in Orumieh’s prison, reported Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA). They were identified as: Behrouz Shir Pour, Manouchehr Davoudi, Bahman Qeytarani, Ghasem Akbari and Zakaria Nasrollahi. HRANA failed to find the name of the woman who was executed. The official Iranian media did not report about these executions.
On September 9, Semnan Province General Judiciary announced the execution of two drug smugglers at Shahrood’s Prison, IRNA reported. M. B. and A. K. were charged with possession of 750 grams of Shisheh (synthetic drug) and 480 grams of opium, and possession of 836 grams of Shisheh and 15.228 kilos of opium respectively.
