According to information Hengaw received on January 15, Mohammadreza Zamini, Abolfazl Arvin-Talab, and Moein Gholami were killed during popular protests in Karaj after being shot directly by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Mohammadreza Zamini, 41, was killed on the evening of January 9, 2026, during protests in the Golshahr district of Karaj.
nformed sources reported that Zamini was shot with a handgun while attempting to protect his daughter, who had been injured by pellet fire. His body was laid to rest on January 13, at Behesht Zahra Cemetery.
At the same time that evening, Abolfazl Arvin-Talab, originally from Sabzevar and residing in Karaj, was also killed after being shot directly by government forces.
Separately, Moein Gholami, 32, was killed by government gunfire in the Haft-Tir area of Karaj on the evening of January 8. According to informed sources, his body was transferred to Hasankad, a village in the Asara district of Karaj and his family’s place of origin, where he was buried under strict security restrictions.
