According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was hanged in Ardabil Central Prison on 27th February. His identity has been established as Ali Vatankhah, 27, from Pars Abad, who was sentenced for murder.
Informed sources told IHR: “Ali was arrested for killing someone during a group fight three years ago. His last family visit took place the day prior.”
At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
