A Baloch political prisoner

October 28, 2026 - IRAN. Amin Pardal sentenced to death
A Baloch political prisoner
Iran’s judiciary has sentenced Amin Pardal, a 23-year-old Baloch man from Iranshahr, to death based on forced confessions obtained through severe physical and psychological torture. He remains in Zahedan Central Prison, facing a serious risk of execution.
According to information received by Hengaw, Pardal, a tailor from Aliabad village in Iranshahr County, disappeared on April 4, 2026, after leaving home to speak with members of a nearby Basij base. After a week of repeated inquiries, his family learned that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization had arrested him and transferred him to its detention facility in Zahedan.
During detention and interrogation, Pardal was subjected to severe physical and psychological torture aimed at extracting confessions to charges including “membership in groups opposed to the government” and “involvement in the killing of Mahmoud Haghighat, commander of the Shahredraz police station in Iranshahr.”
His family, allowed to visit him after two months without contact, reported visible bruises and signs of torture on his body. Local community leaders and religious figures also signed a statement confirming that he was working as a tailor at the time of the incident and had no involvement in the alleged acts.
Judicial authorities issued the death sentence based on confessions obtained under torture. His case has reached the execution stage at Zahedan Central Prison, raising serious concerns about an imminent execution. The court branch responsible for the ruling and the exact charges underlying his death sentence remain unknown.
