Arsalan Moradi executed on April 13 in Birjand Central Prison.
According to Iran Human Rights, kurdistanhumanrights.org and Hengaw, a man was executed in Birjand Central Prison on April 12. His identity has been established as Arsalan Moradi. Moradi was a Kurdish prisoner from the city of Divandarreh in Kurdistan province. A source familiar with the prisoner’s case spoke to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) and said: “Arsalan Moradi was a truck driver and was arrested about three years ago on drug charges. He was not aware of any drug embedded in his vehicle and had denied any knowledge of it, but the court sentenced him to death.” According to Hengaw which first reported the news, Birjand prison officials did not allow him to have a last visit with his family. At the time of writing, his execution has not been announced by domestic media or officials in Iran.
