On October 21, 2026, Atiyeh Jamei, a 40-year-old married Arab man residing in Ahvaz, was executed at Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz.

Jamei was arrested approximately one year earlier following a confrontation in which he acted to defend himself and his family against two armed individuals who were attempting to attack his home. He was sentenced to death under Iran’s qisas (retributive justice) laws. Hengaw’s sources said the court did not take his claim of self-defense into account.

The execution has not been publicly announced by Iranian state media.
