According to reports received by Hengaw, Babak Hajipour, a 49-year-old Lor from Masjed Soleyman, Khuzestan Province, was executed at dawn on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in Sepidar Prison, Ahvaz.
A source close to Hajipour’s family reported that he had originally been arrested in 1994 following a fight that resulted in murder charges. After four years in prison, he was acquitted, but was later re-convicted and sentenced to death in absentia. Hajipour was re-arrested in 2014 and transferred to Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz. As of the publication of this report, this execution has not been announced by state-affiliated media.
