According to HRANA, Branch 41 of the Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence of political prisoner Amirhassan Akbari-Monfared and communicated to him in prison on October 11, 2026. In July of this year, he was sentenced to death by Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Abolghasem Salavati, on charges of baghi (armed rebellion) through membership in the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).

Amirhassan Akbari-Monfared was arrested alongside his father, Mohammad Akbari-Monfared, his brother Amirhossein, and his sister Zeinab by Ministry of Intelligence agents in Karaj during the winter of 2025. Sometime later, three members of his family were released on bail.
