the Iranian Supreme Court commuted the death sentence of Zeinab Jalalian, a Kurdish prisoner of conscience, to life in prison. Lawyer Mohammad Sharif said that “two weeks ago, Zeinab was summoned by the Kermanshah Dizel Abad Prison’s Social Services unit and informed of her life sentence." Jalalian was arrested in 2007 and in December 2009 was sentenced to death for membership in Kurdistan’s PJAK group.
