According to a report obtained by Hengaw, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, two inmates—Houshang Nourollahi Younjanlou, a resident of Ardabil, and Mohammad Afghan, aged 28 and a citizen of Afghanistan—were executed at Gorgan Central Prison.
Houshang Nourollahi Younjanlou has been detained for the past two years, and Mohammad Afghan for the past three years, on charges related to drug offenses. Mohammad Afghan's execution was carried out clandestinely and without granting him the opportunity for a final visit with his family.
