According to information obtained by Iran Human Rights, a man was hanged in Ghezel-Hesar Prison on 16 September 2026. His identity has been established as Mehrdad Asadi who was arrested around five years ago for murder.

A source told IHR: “The incident occurred when a motorcyclist broke the wing mirror of Mehrdad's car during a road dispute. Mehrdad pursued the motorcyclist in his vehicle, and a collision occurred during the chase that resulted in the motorcyclist's death.”

At the time of writing, his execution has not been reported by domestic media in Iran.
