IRAN: PRISONER HANGED IN PUBLIC

According to Iranian Students' News Agency (ISNA), on the morning a prisoner was executed in public in the Southern city of Bandar Abbas.
The prisoner was sentenced to execution in public on the charge of murdering two park rangers.
Director-General of Hormozgan's Judiciary Department, Akbari, said, “Two park rangers from Hormozgan were shot by an unauthorized hunter in a protected area on June 23, 2016.”
The report doesn’t mention the identity of the prisoner.
According to Iran Human Rights (IHR)'s annual report on the death penalty, 31 prisoners were hanged in public in 2017.
