Iran publicly hanged three men convicted of drug trafficking and armed robbery in Zahedan, the capital of the southeastern Sistan-e Baluchestan province, the ISNA news agency reported.

Iran publicly hanged three men convicted of drug trafficking and armed robbery in Zahedan, the capital of the southeastern Sistan-e Baluchestan province, the ISNA news agency reported. The first man was identified as Mohammad Sh., convicted of kidnapping, banditry and trading more than 220 kilos (484 pounds) of opium. The second was identified as Changiz N., convicted of banditry, armed robbery and murdering two people, while the third man hanged was identified as Ali B., convicted of possessing 16 kilos (35.2 pounds) of heroin. The report added that they were executed to the sound of cheering crowds.
