Monireh Nourikia (Norikia, Monireh Noori-Kia)
Iran executed Monireh Nourikia (Norikia, Monireh Noori-Kia), a woman prisoner sentenced to death for murder, in Mashhad Central Prison on 28 May.
Nourikia, 35, was arrested in 2020.
Several men were also reportedly executed at the same time in Mashhad Central Prison, but no information has yet been received on the identities of these prisoners.
With the execution of Monireh Noori-Kia, the number of women executed in Iran has reached 212 since 2007.
The Iranian regime is the world’s top record holder of the executions of women.
The Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran has compiled these women’s names in a list called “List of Women Executed in Iran since 2007.”
