Tahassin Ali Mutar Janabi, an Iraqi army captain who served under ousted dictator Saddam Hussein, was sentenced to death for killing police and soldiers in an area south of Baghdad known as the Triangle of Death. Janabi, 32, was convicted by a high-security special criminal court in Hilla, south of Baghdad, over the attacks in the nearby town of Jarf Sakhr.
