an Iraqi provincial court sentenced two members of Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr's Mahdi army to death for killing a prominent tribal chief's son, a judicial official said.
The court in Amara convicted Ahmed Jabbar Khalaf and Haider Abdel Sadeq of the murder of Ali Kadhim Moshatat, son of Kadhim Moshatat.
The two Mahdi army fighters were among more than 100 people arrested in June 2008.
