it was reported that the trial of Mikhail Trutnev, a man accused of cannibalism, had taken place recently in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan and that the defendent had been sentenced to death. On the morning of 28 July 2004, a female resident of the 4th residential district in Bishkek, while walking her dog, came across a chopped-off head and entrails of a man in the shrubs near the stairwell of her home. Traces at the scene of the incident led the police to a flat on the second floor where they found the chopped parts of a human body. It became clear later that the suspect had killed his acquaintance.
