Joseph Hazel, convicted of killing millionaire Briton Tony Fetherston in January 2000 in the garden of his home in Basseterre, the capital of St Kitts, was sentenced to death by hanging. Wealthy businessman Mr Fetherston, of Sutton, Suffolk, who was in his sixties, had gone out onto his lawn when he heard noises.
He was confronted by Hazel, who demanded money and shot him when he said he had none.
An official at the High Court in Basseterre said: "The sentence was death by hanging." Hon Mr Justice Davidson K Baptiste handed out the death penalty.
