Judge John Tinder of U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana rejected the internet company reuqest to the U.S. government, seeking to broadcast the execution of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh in a live webcast. Attorneys for Entertainment Network Inc., a Tampa, Florida, company that produces adult-themed Web sites filed the lawsuit against the U.S. Bureau of Prisons and the Justice Department in the U.S. Court for the Southern District of Indiana. The lawsuit claims the federal regulation barring witnesses from photographing or making audio or video recordings of an execution violates the First Amendment's guarantee of freedom of the press. Sister Helen Prejean was in favor of showing on TV Mcveigh's execution.
