Jurors recommended the death penalty for Antonio Jones in the beating death of an 80-year-old woman. The jury took about 30 minutes to decide by an 11 to 1 vote that Jones, 26, should be executed for the January 31, 1999 killing of Ruth Kirkland in her home. Circuit Judge Jerry White set formal sentencing on April 22.
