Justice Secretary Hernando Perez said there are actually 17 convicts slated for the lethal injection chamber this year

Justice Secretary Hernando Perez said there are actually 17 convicts slated for the lethal injection chamber this year. Fourteen of these convicts are rapists, two are kidnappers and one was sentenced for robbery with homicide. According to records, the first in line for lethal injection is rapist Rolando Padayawon, whose conviction was affirmed by the Supreme Court in March last year. This means he can be executed anytime from now until September.
The second is rapist Alfredo Nardo whose sentence was affirmed with finality by the High Tribunal in April 1002. Because of this Nardo can be scheduled for lethal injection anytime from now until October this year.
The other death convicts facing possible execution this year are rapists Reynaldo Rebato, Alejandro Guntang, Juan Manalo, Ramshad Thamsey, Ramil Velez-Rayos, Nonelito Abenion, Roberto Palero, Castro Geraban, Alejo Miasco, Sandy Hinto, Ireneo Padilla and Pablo Santos, kidnappers Lara and Licayan, and Reynaldo Morial, who was sentenced to death for robbery-homicide.
