Kazakhstan may abolish the death penalty according to Human Rights Ombudsman Bolat Baykadamov.
"We currently have a moratorium on the death penalty, so we may eventually abolish capital punishment," he said. "There is not a single indication that the death penalty will remain a legal norm. It will most probably be abolished," the ombudsman added.
