the Kenyan Attorney General supported Godfrey Ngotho Mutiso's application to have the death penalty abolished. But Mr Amos Wako said he was agreeing with the prisoner’s arguments for only that particular case. He argued that the death penalty is unconsitutional as it is an inhuman and degrading punishment. Mutiso was sentenced to death in 2009 by Justice Sergon in Mombasa for murdering Patrick Waweru Gachoki in Mkomani in 2004.
