KENYA: RETRIAL ORDERED IN DEATH SENTENCE CASE

Kenyan appellate judges Samuel Bosire, Erastus Githinji and Philip Waki recently set aside the death sentence of Richard Charo Mole and ordered a retrial. Mole allegedly killed police officers Elijah Ndambuki and Nyakundi Nyamongo during a violent robbery in 1993. The justices found that “the case was prosecuted by an incompetent prosecutor not appointed by the Attorney-General.”
