An Eldoret court sentenced to death a 24-year-old man after he was found guilty of robbery with violence.
The prosecution told the court that the accused, Maxwell Muteti Fedha, with others not before the court, violently robbed Prudence Chepchirchir of her mobile phone valued at Sh38,000 at Maili Nne in Eldoret.
The court further heard that on the same date, they robbed Hilda Chepkosgei of a phone and Sh2,000.
They also attacked and injured Thomas Kipyatich and stole Sh2,000 from him.
Two suspects in the case were acquitted for lack of evidence. Muteti has 14 days to appeal the ruling.
