Two men were sentenced to death by hanging in Kenya after being found guilty of murder and robbery with violence. Francis Githinji Gachogu, 38 and Stephen Githinji, 35, were charged with the murder of Samuel Kigotho who was a watchman at Gikindu Primary School in Kimacharia, Mathioya. The death sentences were issued by a court in Murang’a.
They carried out the offences at the school on February 7, 2011.
The body of the night guard was discovered by school children. Giving the judgment, Chief Magistrate Bildad Ochieng said the offences were cruel and heartless.
