KENYA: WOMAN TO HANG FOR POISONING CHILDREN

the High Court in Nakuru, Kenya, sentenced a woman to death for poisoning her son and two stepchildren. Mr Justice Luka Kimaru found Ruth Wanjiru guilty of giving the children food laced with poison. Wanjiru was charged with killing her one year old son Francis Mureithi and stepchildren, Peter Kalifa, five, and two year old Virginia Njoki. She committed the offence on January 5, 2005 in Mugaa Village in Miti Mingi area, Nakuru District.
