Khofifah Indar Parawansa, chairwoman of Indonesia's largest Islamic organization Nahdlatul Ulama, expressed support for the death penalty as a maximum punishment for crimes that had wide implications such as narcotics abuse, rape and corruption. "The death penalty is still worth implementing. Other countries who basically respect human rights also still continue implementing it such as Singapore," Parawansa said.
