Kia Levoy Johnson, 38, was executed this evening. He was pronounced dead at 6:18 p.m.. Johnson was condemned for killing William Matthew Rains, in a $23 robbery on Oct. 29, 1993. Johnson becomes the 16th condemned inmate to be put to death this year in Texas and the 37th this year in the USA.
