The Court of Cassation on 14 November 2019 upturned the verdict issued by a lower court, which sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to death for killing his father in their Waha family residence over a family dispute. The court thereby commuted the verdict to life imprisonment.
After the incident occurred in November last year, security operatives managed to arrest the suspect in a desert area in Oyoun and retrieved the crime tool that he dumped in a garbage bin close to scene of the incident. The culprit – an ex-convict – confessed that he picked the knife from their kitchen under narcotic influence, and located his 45-year old father after which he stabbed him to death.
