KUWAITI EMIR COMMUTES FILIPINO’S DEATH SENTENCE TO LIFE

the death sentence of May Vecina, a Filipino overseas worker sentenced to death for killing her six year old ward in Kuwait, was commuted to life imprisonment by the Emir of Kuwait, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. The DFA said the Emir of Kuwait signed the Amiri decree commuting the death sentences of Vecina and another OFW, Marilou Ranario, to life sentences. Ranario was sentenced to death for killing her Kuwaiti employer in 2005.
